You don’t even do skincare before bed? No wonder your skin is worse than others!

Your Nightly Skincare Routine: Do This Before Bed
Stick to the Basic Skincare Steps
It’s best to start your skincare routine immediately after cleansing or showering to lock in moisture. If you can’t do your full routine right away, spritz on a hydrating mist. PS: Some mists require you to gently blot off excess water with a tissue. If you don’t, the water can evaporate and end up drawing moisture outof your skin.
Don’t skip the subsequent steps: toner, (sheet mask), serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. You can adjust the number of steps, but never just go to sleep after using a sheet mask without applying moisturizer. You might think the mask is hydrating enough on its own, but if you want it to work to its full potential, you must complete the entire routine!
Invest in a High-Performance Skincare Product
Every woman needs a high-performance product with strong restorative powers in her arsenal. This product should provide excellent soothing and “first aid” effects when your skin is dry, flaky, making makeup look patchy, or when you’re breaking out. Typically, these are serums, though some potent repair creams can also do the trick.
If you’re going to bed late or are feeling particularly fatigued, using a targeted high-performance product before sleep can help revitalize your complexion, reducing sallowness and dullness. This is a rescue treatment that works throughout the night to restore a healthy, radiant look.
Incorporate Face Masks
This is a standard step in most weekly, or even daily, routines. Remember: the frequency of use depends on the mask’s function. Always follow the instructions on the package and consider your skin type.
Generally speaking, simple hydrating masks can be used daily if needed. Exfoliating masks can be used once a week or 2-3 times weekly, depending on their intensity. Use rescue masks as the situation demands. PS: Don’t leave a sheet mask on for more than 15-20 minutes. Once the sheet’s water content drops below your skin’s hydration level, it can start to draw moisture fromyour skin!
Try Manual Massage
If you’re concerned with lifting, firming, or especially reducing puffiness, try a lymphatic drainage massage before bed. However, whether you’re doing the Tanaka method or a simplified version, always use a massage cream. Massaging without a slick product will tug at your skin and potentially cause wrinkles. Many brands offer massage creams, so you can choose one based on your budget and preferred texture.
